I liken my life to a crazy quilt. You never know what size or color the next block will be, what print or fabric it will be made from or which stitch, ribbon or charm it will be adorned with.

Welcome to my crazy-quilt life. Hopefully my blog is a reflection of that & me!

Enjoy your visit.

My poor, neglected blog. Gone are the days of me loving to blog. It saddens me a bit and I've tired to find that joy once again, but it has not come back.
As I look over my blog, it has been too long since I've posted. I have a lot to blog about too!
I turned 50 last week and what a journey it has been, a year-long journey with my friend, Linda, who also surprised me with a visit! It was her first trip to my house and the surprise of my life. I have never been that surprised before. It's funny how the mind works in those situations, but I couldn't wrap my head around her and Jim being real until Jim spoke. I could not figure out how someone could replicate them so well. Oh my!
I know Linda took a lot of pictures and I am hoping to see some of those soon. It was a whirlwind trip for them over 3 mountain passes in March! The drive can be scary and I know at times it was for them.
It's so wonderful to have friends who will go above and beyond the call of friendship!
The week prior my friend and business partner, Cheryl, threw a party for me an a few friends. We had a ton of fun and lots of hysterical gifts.
I am very blessed.

What a Pair of Nut Heads!

Ok, here they are. Short and to the point! My newest addition to the nut head gang!

I can't tell you the immense pleasure this pair brought me! They just make me laugh!
I guess they aren't really "heads", but they are funny just the same!

My Last Day of Christmas Vacation

Today is my last day off from the real world. It has been a pleasure and I really am dreading getting back on a dead horse. We will see what this year brings.
I was busy all day at home and it felt good. I am thinking I need more time at home to make my house a home. Today was spent vacuum packing the lovely summer sausage we made. We ran out of bags, so Chris has to make a quick trip to town. I got started on reorganizing the pantry in order to put Christmas dishes, the meat grinder and the sausage supplies away. I also made room for the new cordless drill and cordless screwdriver I found in my stocking on Christmas morning. I did away with some old canned goods, threw out some useless items and picked out a few things for resale. Feels good.
Now I'd like to share the little Santa I found for $5 just before Christmas. He was a battery-operated bank at one time, but the acid from the batteries made sure that wouldn't work again! I thought he was pretty cute and couldn't leave him behind for just 5 bucks. To sell or to keep? That is the question. I've enjoyed him this season.

Hello 2012!

Two thousand twelve. Just to say it is mind-boggling! Can you imagine, 2012? It sounds like some futuristic science fiction movie! Never-the-less, here it is and I welcome it. Time to put 2011 to bed, be grateful for all of the good things of the year and observant of the bad. Time to reflect and try to be a better person. In that vein, I have been struggling this year to come up with a personal theme. It's typically much easier for me and just shows itself, but 2012 is much more difficult. A lot of things come to mind, but don't really fit a theme. Be more mindful, more observant, better on my follow through (we all have good intentions, but do we act on them as we should?), patience, slow down and enjoy life, less is more......I could go on.
This is the year I turn 50. I don't want it to be just another year.
